Seven participants take part in a specially designed art workshop to test whether immersing themselves in creativity can improve their mental wellbeing. Guided by a leading psychotherapist, seven Australians take part in a potentially life-changing social experiment to explore how creativity can help people recover from mental health issues including depression, PTSD and anxiety. Over ten days they immerse themselves in a range of creative activities – painting, photography and song. Their progress is monitored by a group of experts who track what happens to the participants’ brains, bodies and emotions as they create art. Can the group demonstrate that creativity has a positive impact on mental wellbeing, and help advocate for a new prescription for mental health?
