Where I Grow Old

A Portuguese woman living in Brazil, Francisca, is weary of the arrival of an old acquaintance, Teresa. However, though the two friends are markedly different, they are both able to teach the other where exactly it is that they belong. Teresa awakens in Francisca a desire for her homeland; she misses Lisbon and, with her 30th birthday looming, needs to decide where she wants to grow old. As Teresa enthusiastically finds her way in a new country and city, Francisca already seems to be saying goodbye.
