Cannes Best Actress winner Dorotea Petre plays a beautiful teenager struggling to satisfy the demands of her overbearing father. Ryna has been raised as a boy because her mechanic father was obsessed with having a son. Despite her enforced short hair and oil-stained clothes, Ryna's beauty is apparent.  When her mother leaves, unable to tolerate any more of her husband's physical and verbal abuse, Ryna defies her father and triggers a series of events that lead to tragedy; and a fateful choice for Ryna.
